Eventually she came across humans, which were different and strange, but she thought that maybe they’d know what she was.

Of course, when she tried to approach them, they shunned her. She’d approached in hopes of learning about herself, but only learned pain, fear, and despair. Eventually, they started trying to kill her, and her fear slowly broke up into several different feelings, which physically changed her form. She gained several powers, in the form of snakes that made up her hair. Filled with hate, she started slaughtering humans, but found she didn’t particularly enjoy it. Every day she killed someone, she cried, and eventually she decided that her life would’ve been better if she’d stayed alone in the darkness and never formed emotions in the first place.

She set off wandering again, and eventually found a peaceful place where she could be alone, forever. She was happy, but eventually a human soldier named Tsukihiko found her. She was scared, but that fear turned into suspicion when the human boy wasn’t scared of her at all. In fact, he was kind, and she was worried it was a trick. She told him to leave, and he did...but came back the next day. And the next. And the next. He was there every day, and as the years went on they eventually fell in love with each other.

She was given a name by him, and eventually they had a child. She loved her family more than anything, and kept a diary of everything they did together. For the first time in her life, she was happy. But then she realized that while she wasn’t aging, her family was. Desperate, she used her power and the POWER OF WISHES to create a new, never-ending world. Within, time would never pass, and she planned to bring her family inside so that they could live together forever.

Before that, though, her husband wanted to have a wedding. He went to town to make the preparations, and along the way gets kidnapped by people who are out to kill Azami. He’s savagely beaten by them, and eventually the people find their house and confront Azami who promptly murders all most of them and saves her husband.
When she realizes that her family was hurt because of her, she decides they’d have been safer if she never pretended she could be anything but a monster, and that she should stop trying to wish for her own happiness. She disappears into the never-ending world by herself, telling her daughter, Shion, to never use her powers and to live normally as a human with her father.

( ALTERNATIVELY SHE JUST GOES TO ARBITRARILY WAIT IN THE HAZE FOR THEM TO JOIN HER UNTIL HER HUSBAND DIES AND THEN REALIZES SHE WAS WAITING TOO LONG AND NOW SHION HAS HER OWN FAMILY BUT THAT’S DUMB AND THIS IS THE ONE THING MCA ACTUALLY DOES RIGHT )

Shion has a daughter named Mary, and teaches her to never leave the house until she’s an adult. Mary proceeds to leave the house, and is attacked by humans. Shion tries to protect her, but the strain of using her powers is too much on her body. She kills the attacking humans, but the two of them are on the edge of death. Fortunately, Azami has been watching over them, and issues a command to the never-ending world to take in everyone who dies on the 15th of August, bringing Shion and Mary to her. Shion dies, staying with Azami, but Azami gives Mary the power of one of her snakes to keep her alive...which also happens to be the snake that lets her control all the other snakes. She lost control of the world she’d created, the Heat Haze, and therefore was unable to undo the order to drag in people who die on August 15th, and the wishgranting snake starts implanting people who come in with more of Azami’s snakes, in an attempt to grant one wish which leads to a series of unfortunate events that leads to all of Mary’s friends dying forever in endless timeloops

◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense?

◎ Personality: Azami is, at her core, a very determined individual. Most of what she does, from associating with humans to find out who she is to murdering a bunch because they’re jerks, to making a deal with devilsnake to create the Haze is her having a very firm idea of what she wants to do, despite all adversity. She gets what she wants, whether it’s answers, revenge, or love. She’s also very prone to sharp emotion -- things like despair, burning hatred, or deep love.

Happiness, however, is the one thing she spends her life actively in pursuit of. Everything she does is for the end goal of being happy, which is why what she does changes so often. She pursues happiness in one way, before realizing that’s not what she wants, or not all that she needs, and switches to a different goal. It can be said that she’s incredibly selfish in this way -- even her despair at killing humans in revenge is more about revenge not making her happy than her feeling that murder is a bad thing to do.

◎ Powers/Abilities:
◎ Weapons & Other Special Inventory:

CEREALIA-Specific

◎ Element:
◎ Sense:
◎ Seven Character Traits:

Samples

◎ First-Person Sample:

◎ Third-Person Sample:

◎ Is your character retaining any previous game memories?

comments

MEMORY 5 - SHINIGAMI RECORD PT. 2

song - 7:15-10:00 - I FUCKING HATE SHAFT, AND MCA (1:30 - 8:40, except the part where tsukihiko actually comes back because MCA is trash and not consistent with itself and both THE PREVIOUS EPISODE AND SHINIGAMI RECORD SAY HE DOESN'T)

---

You were happy. You had everything you could ever possibly want. But...as the years passed, and your family aged, while you stayed exactly the same, you came to a sobering realization. Humans do not live very long. Your days become consumed with fears for your bleak future -- you don't care for a world without them. Every night, you cry. Finally, you have learned the meaning of 'despair'.

But one night, one of your snakes speaks to you. Using the powers you'd claimed when you reshaped yourself, he would grant you a single wish. He would give you the power to live alongside your family, forever. The power to create entire worlds. Elated, you dry your tears, and start learning.

It's not long before you're able to combine all of your powers into one unified burst of energy -- one that ushers in the creation of a new, empty world, where time does not pass. And once again, you are happy. Excitedly, you rush to tell your family -- how happy will they be to know that you all can now live together, forever?

Tsukihiko and Shion both smile, embracing you. Immediately, they agree to come with you to your neverending world.

But before that, Tsukihiko has one request -- that the two of you have a wedding. You're at a loss...you've read a lot of things, but you've never heard of something called a wedding. With a laugh and a smile, your beloved explains it to you. Of course, it all makes sense. It's only right that the two of you have an eternal bond. You're even happier now, if a bit anxious --

A few days you're set to have your wedding, Tsukihiko leaves for a nearby village to set arrangements for the occasion.

It is the last time either of you see him.

You and Shion patiently wait for him. ...For a very long time. Eventually, you begin to grow less patient, and that anxiety begins to eat away at your happiness. Shion tries to keep you calm -- but it's been three days. It shouldn't take this long -- the villagers don't like him -- maybe something happened to him, you need to go search --

But your daughter continues to try and reassure you. Maybe it's taking him awhile to find a bridal garment...whatever that is? You...you're sure she's right. Tsukihiko promised he'd spend eternity with you and Shion. He wouldn't abandon you, and he definitely wouldn't let anything stop him.

Later that night, you hear voices outside your door. Nobody ever visits...so maybe it's Tsukihiko? You move to open the door before you realize -- none of those are him. And the sounds they're making...they have weapons!

You yell at Shion to run, and just in time, as arrows come tearing through the door, piercing and killing you. At least, as much as you're able to die. It's something you haven't felt in a long, long time. Since before you met Tsukihiko. Back when you wandered the world, trying to find out what you were. And now you remember -- you remember everything humanity ever did to you. Your hatred and pain comes rushing back to you as you bleed out on the floor, as Shion cries over your body, as the men prepare to kill her, too --

No. For the last time, you use your powers, first hiding Shion from their sight. Then you restore your body even as the men panic and try to slash and shoot you -- your snakes fend off their attacks, and they flee. You'd be content to let them go, but if they found you...

They must have done something to Tsukihiko. They must know where he is. And if they dared to hurt him, and then to come here and hurt your precious daughter...your hatred has dulled enough to the point where personal harm is of no consequence, but the only proper punishment for these humans that have dared to touch your family is death.

You take on an altogether more frightening form, a humongous serpent, and chase them -- hypnotizing them with your eyes, drawing the gaze of all but one of them to you. And then you turn them to stone, watching idly as they crumble away.

The last one you interrogate. He's too scared to talk, so you simply stare into his eyes, taking the information directly from his mind.

...And what you see is Tsukihiko -- your beloved -- being horribly beaten. They were trying to remove your 'curse' from him, apparently viewing his marriage to a monster as some sort of mind control you'd inflicted upon him. He refuses to tell them anything, only repeating your name and his desire to live with you and Shion forever. One of their scouts enters the room, however, and informs the group that they found guide marks leading to your home.

The leader shouts to make preparations to kill you, and Tsukihiko flies into a fury.

He is immediately put down. Right in front of you, through the eyes of this disgusting, base creature, you watch your beloved -- your husband, the father of your child, the only person who ever treated you with kindness, be brutally murdered by his own kind.

And in that moment, your heart shatters. For the first time in your life, you feel hopelessness. Emptiness.

You tell the last man to leave. You've killed his companions, the ones that shot you and murdered your husband. You tell him to leave, and to tell everyone what happened to his friends, so that nobody dares to enter this forest again.

But you know that won't be enough. You know that you're a monster, and as long as you exist, the people you care about will be in danger. All you have left now is Shion...and you want her to live a full, happy life.

It's time to leave, but you decide to go alone. To cease to exist in this world, like you planned before meeting Tsukihiko. After all, there's nothing left for you here. Shion comes running out of the cottage, calling for you -- you tell her to stay away from you. That she's never going to be hurt again because of you. That you never should have tried to live such a selfish dream pretending to be anything but the monster you are.

You knew all along this would happen. This world was not made to love someone like you. If you're gone, Shion, at least, can be happy.

You say your goodbyes to Shion, telling her that she isn't a monster, and that no matter what, she should live as a human. You apologize for involving her in your ridiculous dream, and tell her that if she lives happily, you will be happy.

Of course, she cries. She cries and cries and she doesn't understand why you're leaving and that only hurts you even more -- and in the midst of your stuttered apologies, you tell her -- you tell her that no matter what, you will love her forever, and that you will constantly watch over her, so that she will be happy forever.

The last thing you hear before you enter your empty, neverending world, is your daughter crying for her mother.

---

EFFECTS:

- my life sucks
- my husband's dead
- that's why I was in a weird void
- I kind of abandoned my daughter
- AZAMI IS FUCKIN SCARY, HOLY SHIT
- 'I...just wanted to dream for awhile. To dream a fantasy that I could live with my family. You were dear to me. More precious than anything.'
- 'Shion, you are not a monster. Whatever happens, do not use these powers.'
- 'I know I have no right to say this, but be happy as a simple human. That will make me happy.'
- 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry --'
- 'I will love you forever. I will pray forever. That you will be happy forever.'

comments

Memory 4 - The monster finally learned the meaning of the word 'joy'.

6:30-7:15

---

You and your beloved -- he taught you that word: someone you love dearly -- built a small little house in the woods, together. From all around he gathered books for you and taught you to read so that you could learn about humans without having to be near them. He even gave you a name -- Azami. He told you it meant the flower of a thistle -- the beauty in the midst of a thousand needles.

Every day, you had him call out for you. It felt good, to be treated nicely. To be called something other than 'monster'. It felt good to have someone to trust and love. One night, you told him that you wanted a family, like you'd seen before meeting him. One of the happy ones you'd read about in your books.

He obliged, kissing you on the forehead, and that night you learned another new word: pleasure.

Soon enough, you had a child. She was beautiful -- with flowing white hair and red eyes, and you named her Shion. Sometimes, you were content to just call out her name while you held her. As she grew older, you taught her how to read and cook and do all the things you loved to. One of the books Tsukihiko had brought you was blank...so you decided to fill its pages with the story of your life. You wrote about the things you and your family did every day, a smile on your face.

It took countless years, but for the first time in your life, you're finally satisfied with things. Standing on the front doorstep of your small house in the woods, Shion and Tsukihiko on either side of you, holding your hands...

You finally know the meaning of happiness.

comments

MEMORY 3 - What loathesome tales.

Entire Song - (Subbed Version)

---

How long has it been? A hundred years? Longer?

The snakes around you coil ever tighter as you find yourself awaking in your usual prison -- the never ending world you'd created. Time has no meaning here, and everything's the same as it always is --

-- except, no. There's someone here. Could it be time again, already? You focus yourself, and when the haze in front of your eyes clear, you see...a group of children. In fact, you know these children. One of them, the white-haired one, is your granddaughter. She was here, before, dying. You saved her.

The rest of them have all been here, too. They were each granted one of your snakes so that their lives would be preserved -- so why were they here now?

You're not left wondering for long, because he appears. The Snake of Clearing Eyes, the one who tricked and betrayed you so long ago. He's found himself a new body -- the young man you remember allowing to reshape his life. There's some banter -- you don't pay attention, because you've heard it a million times. His ridiculous plan to create a new 'little master' and fulfill his host's wish.

He intends to turn your granddaughter into the monster he wants. She's the 'Queen', to whom you granted the power to control all the snakes and by extension this world when you saved her life. To break her and force her to use her powers, he begins murdering her friends one by one.

You find that you don't care. It's sad, you suppose, and you're angry, but that's what you've been feeling for what feels like an eternity. There's nothing you can do to stop what's going to happen. You're helpless, even as your granddaughter screams and cries and begs for the lives of her friends.

When she finally gives in and activates her powers, preparing to reset everything -- how many times has it been that this has happened, now? You can't quite remember -- instead of allowing the Snake of Clearing Eyes to achieve his goal, you close your eyes and wait for the end, looking forward, at least, to being with your family once more.

What a loathesome tale.

comments

Memory 2 - Shinigami Record Pt. 1

2:46-6:25
---

It never stops. They keep hurting you, and you hate it. You hate them. Your feelings, generated from their malice, have shaped you and now even given you an array of powers -- strength, speed, the power to turn humans to stone with your gaze, to deceive them, to pull them in flocks to you --

And you decide that you are finally going to fight back. You take up their tool of the harvest, ready to show them that they're no more to you than stalks of wheat are to them. It's easy enough. You slaughter them, often not having to use anything but the scythe you created and your ability to bring them to you.

They don't call you a monster anymore. You are a shinigami, a god of death that attracts humans to their demises, and they rightfully fear you.

But it doesn't make you happy. Even though they don't call you one anymore, you can feel in your heart that this makes you more monstrous than anything. On the first day you took a human life, you wept.

And on the next day.

And the next.

Soon you aren't even sure how long it's been, how long you've been killing, how long you've been crying. You don't care about anything anymore. Not even your desire to learn what you are. You wish you'd never learned anything. You wish that you'd stayed in the darkness, formless and thoughtless.

Tired of what you've become, of humanity's inability to accept you, you leave. Once again, you wander for years, until eventually you find a place in a small forest -- a quiet, tranquil spot, where no other life or sound exists other than you.

You resolve to live out the rest of your days here, alone, and prepare to slip back into that darkness -- but then someone calls out to you. A human.

"Are you alone, too?"

A boy in a soldier's uniform suddenly appears next to you. You have no idea when he arrived, and in reflex you hiss and strike at him -- but instead of running in fear, or trying to attack you, he just laughs, and asks --

"If you're lonely, would it be okay if I sat with you?"

You think -- it's been so long since you've used words. You were never great at human language in the first place, learning only the bits that you'd thought would make them stop hurting you. When that didn't work, you gave up altogether. But you manage to squeeze out the one that you're fairly certain is appropriate --

"No."

-- and then, surprisingly, he laughs, and leaves. You're alone, again...but only until next morning, when he comes back. And asks you again.

Every day, he does this. Sometimes, he does sit. Sometimes, you let him for awhile before sending him away. Every day, your heart is filled with fear and worry. He's the first human to have shown you anything even slightly resembling kindness -- unless it was nothing more than a ruse to lure you into a false sense of security -- and eventually when the question changes from 'can I sit with you' to 'would you like to live with me?' you're put even more on alert. It's almost certainly a trick, you think. They probably just sent him to lure you out, so they can kill you again. He just wants to hurt you, like the rest of them.

So you tell him to leave, and that you will live by yourself.

But then, once again, he visits you each and every day. Even in the worst of storms, he'd make the trek through to the heart of the forest to keep you company. Years go by, and the boy grows older -- and eventually you start to feel a tinge of warmth in your heart. Acceptance that maybe, just maybe, this isn't a trick.

One day, he asks again. "Will you live with me?"

You turn to face him, and suddenly stand. He flinches -- of course, he was always worried that one of these days you'd attack him. It'd happened before.

But for once in your life, this dark, gloomy world has shown you kindness. Emotions start to bubble up again, but instead of the anger and fear humans had once taught you, it's something more similar to the wonder you used to feel when you were learning about the world.

You smile -- a rough approximation of the expression you'd often seen him wearing while he silently sat next to you, and clasp one of his hands in yours. Once again, you lose yourself in thought, trying to find the word to fit the situation...

"Yes."

comments

MEMORY 1 - The humans shunned and feared the monster.

0:46-2:45

---

You're travelling the world, learning all there is to know about this new life you've been born into. But despite seeing all sorts of other things being born, and learning so much about how the world works, you never quite figure out what exactly you are.

Determined, you continue on, until one day you meet strange new creatures that call themselves human. They knew a lot of things, and spoke and communicated and shared knowledge and stories with one another. Surely one of them knew what you were, right? Anxious, you finally work up the courage to enter one of their villages, seeking to learn --

However, the humans have nothing to teach you but pain, fear, and despair.

From the moment they first set eyes on you, they were terrified. You can't communicate with them, and you're different. They call you a monster, and it's not long before they start trying to kill you in 'self-defense'. They throw stones at you, set you on fire, chase you down and murder you over and over in various ways. Eventually, the pain and fear and despair you feel become something else entirely -- anger. Your body begins to change form, as you take on the aspects of the creature they call a 'snake'. Your new feelings grant you new powers, and a new direction.

You hate them. You hate them you hate them you hate them you hate them --

---

EFFECTS:

- FUCK HUMANS

comments

She lost control of the world she’d created, the Heat Haze, and therefore was unable to undo the order to drag in people who die on August 15th, and the wishgranting snake starts implanting people who come in with more of Azami’s snakes, in an attempt to grant one wish which leads to a series of unfortunate events that leads to all of Mary’s friends dying forever in endless timeloops.

azami is a responsible adult and did nothing wrong

Character personality: Azami is, at her core, a very determined individual.

But she does give everything for her family -- her family is her greatest source of happiness. She loves them more than anything and would do anything for them, including MAKE A DEAL WITH PROBABLY THE DEVIL, AND THEN ALSO GIVE UP HER POWER TO CONTROL IT, and when she finds that she’s endangering them she chooses to leave rather than put them in danger ever again, admitting that she’s just been selfishly chasing her own dreams all this time. She still watches over and protects them from the Daze, though, resulting in her ruining everything on accident.

Another thing that motivates her greatly is curiosity. She leaves the darkness in the first place in order to learn more about herself and the world, and this is what fuels her original drive for happiness. Once she’s ~*learned things*~ and can no longer truly go back, curiosity isn’t as big of a drive for her, but it’s still there.

Finally, falling in line with wanting to be happy, she wants to fit in. As a monster, with the way humans treated her, she believed she’d never be able to be close to anyone. She wanted to disappear into the darkness again, but Tsukihiko followed her, and gave her a place in the world. Belonging and having a purpose is something that makes her happy, and having a family was a perfect way to fulfill that need.

Effects of memory loss: The biggest change is that she won’t really remember anything about Things Humans Do. Her sense of morality will be super off and her starter memory is going to be about Shion so she’s going to be very ‘FUCK BEING A GOOD PERSON GOTTA SAVE FAMILY I LOVE THEM FOR SOME REASON’ and that’ll overpower her general unwillingness to cause harm. On the flipside, she’ll be a lot more curious and less suspicious and generally friendly towards humans since she won’t remember that they’re KIND OF GIGANTIC ASSHOLES. At first she’ll be pretty shy of them since they’re different but that’ll pass pretty quickly. She may also develop a sense of being kind of superiority which won’t really be helped at all by her position, but hey whatever. She’ll continue to be very FAMILY-ORIENTED, and still try to seek closeness with others.

Personal Item: The red hair ribbon given to her by Tsukihiko.

How would your character react to their position? SHE WILL BE VERY DETERMINED TO DO A GOOD JOB. Not out of a sense of duty or anything (and she’ll probably. be pretty standoffish towards the queen and princess), but because doing a good job means she saves the people she cares about sooner. She’ll do a lot of leveraging her (percieved) authority to get people to do what she wants, and try to boss around the other cats and form a MAKESHIFT COMFORT FAMILY. This means she’ll actually be really good about making sure people stay out of trouble and keep them from doing dumb things outside of games, but on the flipside it also means she’ll try to convince teams to RUIN OTHER TEAMS in games regardless of whether or not someone might get hurt, and she’ll absolutely 100% do anything an echo asks her to, since GOTTA SAVE FAMILY WHAT IS THIS HUMAN EMOTION YOU CALL MORALITY. She will also, in general, be really happy to serve whatever purpose she’s asked to.

Under what circumstances might they consider breaking the rules? UNLESS KYRIAKOS DERE HAPPENS and she becomes particularly attached to people, she would probably never actually break the rules. Breaking the rules means delaying or hurting her chances at saving her family which CANNOT BE DONE, EVER FAMILY TOO IMPORTANT. It also means MAYBE I’LL BE A BAD CAT IF I BREAK THE RULES AND THEN I WON’T BELONG ANYMORE!!! If she ends up having people in Kyriakos she considers family and also as important as her actual family she’ll break the rules if she thinks something she’s being required to do is going to hurt them but that’s probably definitely not going to happen.

Which of the six available powers would your character choose, and why? shield, for protection reasons. put all of the small children in shields forever they will never be hurt or get old or get kidnapped and beaten almost to death

Sample:

2. PROSE OR FIRST PERSON SAMPLE:

When Shion was born, Azami was elated. She was a mother. She had someone who needed her. She had two people who loved her. She belonged. She wasn’t just a monster, anymore. Even if, for them, there wasn’t a world outside their forest, the small bubble within which they existed was enough for her. She didn’t think of the future, of what Shion might need, of a life outside of that bubble. Here and now, she was happy.

When Shion fell, Azami was there to pick her up. When Shion wanted to play, Azami was there to play. When Shion wanted to learn about what she was, Azami was there to teach her. As Shion began to grow, Azami realized that she wasn’t.

She was stuck in time, and her family was not. And she dimly recalled, all those years ago, when she first began wandering the earth -- she recalled that humans disappeared in the blink of an eye. She never thought of the future, because she didn’t need to. For humans, the future was always staring them right in the face. Soon enough, her family would disappear, too.

She couldn’t stop that. She couldn’t save them. She could tend to their needs again and again, pick them up when they fell, but soon enough they’d be gone. For the first time in her life, thoughts of the future consumed her. Here and now, she was in despair.

So she made a wish, guided by one of her serpents. She used all of her power to create a place where they could live together forever, without fear of the future, because even if this world said she couldn’t save them, she would.

comments
